Clinicminds now supports non-medical beauty treatments alongside your medical services. Beauty treatments are optimized for speed and simplicity, so beauticians can schedule appointments, register treatments, write short notes, and take payments without going through medical workflows.
This article explains which settings apply to beauty treatments, how permissions work, and how to add beauty content from the plus (+) button in your settings.
β οΈ Important:
Features such as medical questions, consent forms, before-and-after photos, diagnoses, and lot-number registration are not available for beauty treatments. These features remain fully active for your medical treatments.
β Adding beauty content from the plus (+) button
When you open a settings page that supports both medical and beauty content (for example, treatment categories, treatments, or services), the plus (+) icon in the right upper corner now shows two options:
π©Ί Medical β adds a category, treatment, or service that follows the full medical workflow.
π Beauty β adds a category, treatment, or service that follows the simplified beauty workflow.
Once you've made your choice, the rest of the setup process works exactly the same as you're used to.
βοΈ Settings that apply to beauty treatments
The following settings are relevant when setting up beauty treatments. After clicking the plus (+) button and selecting Beauty, the configuration screens behave the same as for medical items, with only the irrelevant fields hidden.
π Treatment categories β organise your treatments into clear groups such as facials, manicure, or waxing, making it easier for both staff and clients to navigate your offerings.
β
Please note that treatment categories are strictly separated between Beauty and Medical treatments. This means a single category cannot contain a mix of both treatment types. Keeping these categories separate helps maintain clear workflows, accurate scheduling, and the correct setup throughout your clinic environment. See Setup Guide: Treatment Categories.
π Treatments β add the beauty treatments your clinic offers, with prices and durations. See Setup Guide: Treatments.
βπ Treatment reminders β help clients stay consistent with their beauty routine by sending automated treatment reminders at the right moment.
Because reminders are managed separately from treatments in the menu, you can fully customise when and how clients are invited back for repeat treatments, or maintenance sessions, making them just as valuable for beauty clinics as for medical practices.
βποΈ Rooms & devices β configure the rooms and devices used for your beauty treatments to ensure smooth scheduling and resource management.
If certain treatments require a specific room, laser, or beauty device, setting these up in advance helps avoid scheduling conflicts and ensures appointments are always assigned to the right resources.
π Bookable services β make beauty treatments available in your online scheduler. See Setup Guide: Online Scheduling Bookable Services.
β
π‘ Let patients choose a specific treatment
For beauty bookable services, you can let patients choose a specific treatment when making an online booking. The system automatically offers the treatments that are linked to the same treatment category as the bookable service. This is useful when you want to know precisely which treatment a patient is coming in for, while keeping a single bookable service in your scheduler. To enable this go to : Clinic settings > Calendar > Bookable Services. This only applies to beauty services. This feature adds step 3 into the online scheduler
βπ User roles β control what beauticians can see and do (see the section below).
π€ User accounts β add beauticians as users (see the section below).
π‘ Note:
Settings that don't apply to beauty (such as medical questions, consent forms, diagnoses, drawing templates, and aftercare instructions) can be left as they are. They simply won't appear in the beauty workflow.
π₯ Adding beauticians to your subscription
Beauticians can be added to your existing Clinicminds subscription after requesting an upgrade through our support team.
Please note that users with a role containing both Medical and Beauty permissions will be counted within the subscription as a Medical Practitioner, even if they also perform beauty treatments.
To add a beautician, first make sure you have created a dedicated Beauty user role with the correct permissions.
β
Then go to menu > app settings > users > user accounts, click the plus (+) icon in the upper-right corner, add the beauticianβs information, assign them the appropriate beauty user role, and save.
β οΈ Important:
If your clinic offers both medical and non-medical (beauty) treatments and you'd like to use one software solution for both, please contact us to learn more about the possibilities and pricing.
π How permissions work for beauty users
User roles control what each user can see and do in Clinicminds. For beauticians, you'll typically want a user role that:
β Allows scheduling appointments and viewing the calendar.
β Allows registering beauty treatments and writing short notes.
β Allows taking payments and viewing invoices for their own appointments.
π« Restricts access to medical records, medical questions, consent forms, and patient photos.
To set this up, go to menu > app settings > users > user roles and configure the rights accordingly. For full instructions on creating and editing user roles, see Setup Guide: User Roles.
π‘ Note:
Beauticians only see the beauty workflow when registering a treatment. Even if a role technically grants access to medical features, those features won't appear in beauty appointments.
