Can I switch a user myself?
No, not on your own. You can change which user role a user account has yourself, but moving a user between a practitioner seat and a beautician seat also changes your subscription, and that part is not self-service. Contact Clinicminds support first. Once we have processed the change, you assign the new user role yourself.
Practitioner seats and beautician seats are counted separately
Practitioners are included in your plan. Beauticians are a separate add-on with their own number of seats. Because the two are counted separately:
Deactivating or removing a practitioner does not free up a beautician seat.
Deactivating or removing a beautician does not free up a practitioner seat.
If the beauty permissions are greyed out and you see the message that you have reached the maximum number of beauticians, all beautician seats in your plan are in use. Removing or deactivating a practitioner user first will not change that.
Switching a beautician to a practitioner
Contact Clinicminds support and let us know which user should change and per which date.
We adjust your plan for you (one beautician less and one practitioner more), confirm the new monthly price, and process the change.
After we have confirmed the change, go to Menu → App Settings → Users → User accounts and assign the practitioner user role to that user.

After we have confirmed the change, go to Menu → App Settings → Users → User accounts and assign the beauty user role to that user.
Make sure that role contains beauty permissions only. See the section below.
A role with both Medical and Beauty permissions counts as a practitioner
A user role that contains both Medical and Beauty permissions is always counted as a practitioner, even if that user only performs beauty treatments. If the user should count as a beautician, make sure their role contains beauty permissions only. See How do I add or edit a user role?
What to send to support
To process the switch in one go, send us:
The name of the user account that should change
The current situation and the desired situation (for example: now a beautician, should become a practitioner)
The date the change should take effect
We then confirm the new monthly price before we process it.
