Audience: account admins during initial setup.
Treatment categories group the treatments your clinic performs under a shared heading. For example, Botox and dermal filler treatments can both sit under a category called "Injectables."
Categories are central to Clinicminds. Many parts of the application link to a category and use it to present the right information at the right moment and prevent information overload. Medical history questions, consent forms, diagnoses, appointments, and calendars all interact with the categories set up in your account.
Example categories: Botox, Fillers, Eyelid Surgery, Injectables, IPL laser, Peelings. Group your treatments so each fits into a category, and keep the set small.
Where to manage categories
Go to menu > record settings > treatment categories. This opens the category list.
To add a category: click the + icon in the top right corner, complete the fields, and save.
To edit a category: click the category to open its settings.
Create / edit form fields
Name: the category name shown throughout the application.
Abbreviation: a short code for the category (for example, "bot" for Botox and fillers).
Color: the color used to identify the category in calendars and lists. Choose from a fixed palette: Lilac, Blue, Yellow, Green, Light blue, Pink, Orange, Lime, Dark blue, Purple, Red, Grass, Peach, Coral, Brown.
Users: tick the practitioners allowed to perform this category. Only selected users can perform appointments and treatments of the category. Use Select all or Deselect all to set everyone at once.
Save to confirm, Cancel to discard, or Remove to delete the category.
Linking treatments to a category
A category can be saved without a treatment attached, but it won't be usable until at least one treatment is linked to it. You can link a treatment in two ways:
From the category's relationship panel, in the Treatments section (see below).
From the treatment's own settings window, by assigning the category to the treatment there.
Either route creates the same link.
Tip: assign all related settings in one place
Because so much in Clinicminds links to a category, there is a shortcut for assigning every related setting to a category from one screen. In the category list, click the relationship (tree) icon on the right of the category row.
Open each section with its dropdown, tick the correct items, and click Save. The sections are grouped as follows:
Treatments: Treatments, Brochures
Case history: Risk assessment, Diagnoses, Discussion points
Medical state: Medical questions
Forms: Forms
Inspection: Inspection questions
Calendar: Rooms, Equipment
Users: Practitioners
