If your calendar suddenly stops showing appointment details, like the treatment type or whether a patient has paid, the information has not been lost. In most cases a display setting has been switched off. This often happens after you log in on a new computer or a different browser.
There are two settings that control this. Start with the first one, as it solves most cases.
1. Turn appointment details back on in the calendar (most common)
The calendar has a display toggle for appointment details. This setting is tied to your device and browser, so on a new computer or browser it can start out switched off.
To turn it back on:
Open the calendar.
Click the three dots (...) in the bottom right corner of the calendar.
Switch on appointment details (and the legend, if you want it visible too).
Your appointment information will reappear straight away.
2. Check the user role permission (specific cases)
If the toggle is already on and details are still hidden, the user role may be missing the right to view patient details. When the permission "view patients' contact details" is switched off, patient details are hidden everywhere for that user, including in the calendar. This is usually set on purpose for freelance practitioners.
To check or change this:
Go to menu > App-settings > User Roles.
Open the relevant user role.
Select "view patients' contact details" and save the role.
Note: only change this if hiding the details was not intentional. For freelance roles this setting is often deliberate.
Quick diagnosis
Logged in on a new computer or browser? Almost always the calendar toggle (step 1).
A specific user or a freelance role missing details? Check the user role permission (step 2).
