Appointments based on Treatment Category
When scheduling appointments based on treatment categories, users can manually choose the duration and specify the room/equipment (if required) for the relevant treatment.
The duration of each treatment is determined at the category level. Similarly, rooms and equipment are assigned based on the treatment category. If booking an appointment requires an online payment (prepayment), the user must manually enter the amount.

Appointments based on Bookable Services
When booking appointments manually (through the front desk or call handling) using the bookable services settings, different settings such as treatment duration and online payment are automatically applied based on the chosen service.
This automation leads to less manual effort and fewer errors. Room and equipment is specifically filtered for a given service, as they are assigned to particular treatments.

The screenshot below shows a scenario where selecting a room is not required. This may occur if rooms are not applicable to the service or if only one room or equipment is assigned to it. In these cases, the system will automatically make the selection for you.
