Treatments and bookable services are two separate things in Clinicminds. They must each be set up on their own, with their own name and details. This article explains what each one is used for and what happens when you change one.
What is a treatment?
A treatment is the internal, clinical record of what you do for a patient. The treatment name and its details appear in:
- The patient's medical record
- Formal communication, such as a treatment plan
- Invoices
What is a bookable service?
A bookable service is the commercial, patient-facing name of a treatment. It's what shows up in your online scheduler when a patient books an appointment.
Why are they set up separately?
Because they serve different purposes and different audiences:
- A treatment name is written for clinical and administrative accuracy (medical record, treatment plan, invoice).
- A bookable service name is written for the patient booking online, so it can use more commercial or accessible wording.
This means a treatment and its related bookable service can have different names, and that's expected.
Does changing one affect the other?
No. Treatments and bookable services are independent:
Changing a treatment (name or details) does not change any bookable service linked to it.
Changing a bookable service does not change the treatment it's linked to.
If you update one and expect the other to reflect that change, you'll need to update it separately.
