How to remove a location from your account

Learn how to remove a location in Clinicminds and what to check afterwards. Deleting the location handles most of the cleanup automatically, but a few things need a manual check.

If your clinic operates from more than one site, you can remove a location whenever you no longer need it. Deleting the location is the main action, and most related configuration is cleaned up automatically. A few things do need a manual check afterwards — this guide walks you through both.

Step 1: Remove the location

Go to Menu > Clinic Settings > Locations, select the location you want to remove, and delete it.

That's it for the main action. Related configuration such as bookable services and any per-location overrides (for example email or SMS templates) is cleaned up automatically. You don't need to update these separately.

Step 2: Move any future appointments

Deleting a location does not remove its future appointments. They remain in the calendar on the deleted location.

To reassign them, open each appointment and move it to another location manually. Note that this is done one appointment at a time.

Step 3: Check user access

In the user account settings, users may still be linked to the deleted location. After deleting, check whether this is still correct, or whether you need to re-link users to the appropriate location(s).

Step 4: Remove any separate booking link from your website

Each location can have its own unique booking URL that may be placed on your clinic's website. Clinicminds has no control over your external website, so if you used a location-specific booking link, you must remove it from your website manually. This does not happen automatically when the location is deleted.

Step 5: Check staff working times (optional)

If practitioners had working times set for the removed location, you can review these in Menu > Planning > Staff Planner. This is optional and mainly useful for keeping your planner tidy.

Note: Repeating working times are stopped automatically when you delete a location. Non-repeating times may remain, so if you'd like to clean those up, you can remove them manually. This isn't required — new bookings can't be made for a deleted location either way.

A note on your old data

Old data from deleted locations — such as records, appointments, and invoices — remains available. Removing a location does not affect your historical data, so your past records and reporting stay intact.
