When you open a medical record for the first time, you’ll see the Smart Summary button in the upper-right corner.

Click this button to start ➡️

The Quinn AI Smart Summary settings screen will then open automatically.

This window provides all the essential information about Quint Smart Summary. You can review the requirements, learn about privacy details, and adjust settings such as your microphone and preferred language. When you’re ready, click the Start Recording button.

After you click the Start Recording button, Quinn AI Smart Summary begins recording and listening to your consultation.

Once you select Smart Summary (button), it will start and continue recording for as long as you allow it.

Tip 💡

You can freely scroll through the case history, switch to other tabs such as Medical State or Forms, and even review previous treatment or consultation records. As long as you remain within the patient file, Quinn AI Smart Summary will keep recording.

For example, if you need to check details from an earlier treatment, such as the number of syringes used or specific dosages, you can navigate back, review the information, and then return to your current consultation. Quinn AI Smart Summary will still be active.

When you’ve completed your consultation, simply click the Recording button again. The system will then begin analyzing your conversation.

After you stop the recording by clicking the Quinn AI Smart Summary button again, the system will begin analyzing your conversation. While this analysis is in progress, you can click the Smart Summary button once more. This will open the window shown below.

This window gives you the option to discard the current recording or return to the suggested summary at a later moment.

Keep in mind that this step is entirely optional. Quinn AI Smart Summary can continue working in the background, and you can review the generated summary whenever it suits you. There’s no need to open this window unless you want to.

After you finish the recording, sign the consent forms, switch to the Treatment tab, take photos (which you can also capture during the consultation), and record the treatment, you can return to the Case History tab.

You’ll notice that the Smart Summary button has now changed to a Review Suggestions button.

Clicking this button allows you to review the automatically generated summary of your consultation.

Quinn AI Smart Summary will now display the Summary window, also called the Suggestions window.

This window contains the full summary of your conversation, neatly populated into the appropriate record sections.

You can review and edit the suggestions as needed. When you’re satisfied, you can add them directly to the treatment record.

After you approve the summary, the suggestions will appear in the consultation record in the appropriate sections.

Tip 💡

A useful tip is that you can still edit these texts at any moment. You can also add additional information by typing directly into the fields or by dictating it into the appropriate sections.

By clicking the Settings button (the gear icon) within the Smart Summary button, you can access the same settings you configured when first using Quinn AI Smart Summary.

Here, you can adjust your microphone selection and change the language if needed.

By navigating to Menu → App Settings → Account → Quinn AI, you can open the Smart Summary Custom Instructions window. Clinic managers can use this area to define custom instructions for the AI. You can use Quinn AI Smart Summary without configuring this setting. Only use this if you have specific requirements you need to address.

For example, if your clinic prefers a specific structure or tone of voice in medical notes, you can instruct the AI to follow that format. You can also ensure that certain topics are always included in the AI-generated summaries.
