If a practitioner completed a consultation but couldn't create the record the same day, they can create it later and set it to the correct (earlier) consultation date. This is called backdating a record.
Step 1: Backdate the record
Create a new record as you normally would.
Scroll to the bottom of the record and click Backdate record.
In the date picker that opens, select the actual consultation date and save.
Once saved, a warning banner appears at the top of the record confirming it has been backdated.
Step 2: Update the invoice date (optional)
Backdating a record does not automatically backdate its invoice. The invoice keeps its original date until you update it separately.
To align the invoice date with the backdated record:
Open the record, go to the Payment tab, and click Edit invoice.
Confirm in the pop-up, then click Pay to open the invoice date field.
Select the correct (backdated) date and click Confirm.
The invoice now shows the backdated date.
