When performing a medical treatment that is allowed to be exempted from tax, the price including taxes is charged with no tax.
For example, the treatment price including tax is £240 (including 20% tax). When tax exemption is applied the treatment price on the invoice will still be £240, but no tax charged.
Reducing sales prices with tax exemptions
In some cases, clinics would need to set up treatment pricing including taxes, but once tax exemption is applied the charged treatment price should be the net price, thus without tax.
To change the way the system calculates handles tax exemptions, open menu > App settings > Accounts settings.
Click the checkbox next to Reduce sales price with tax exemptions and click Save at the bottom.
Now the system will actually deduct the tax and reduce the invoiced treatment price.
For example, the treatment price including tax is £240 (including 20% tax). When tax exemption is applied the treatment price on the invoice will be £200 (no tax).
Important: Changes to prices or tax settings only apply to new records. Existing records will keep using the old values. To test or apply the new values, first change the settings, and then create a new record. Read more
